Frequently Asked Questions
Where did you attend University and what did you study?
I went to the American University of Paris, where I majored in International and Comparative Politics, with a double minor in Psychology and Journalism.
I also spent a semester studying abroad at NYU Buenos Aires, where I learned a little Spanish and a lot about fun businesses that can exist when you live in a country that has it’s own interpretation of copyright laws.
What is your favourite book?
“Why Women Have Better Sex Under Socialism” by Kristen Ghodsee. She does such an amazing job at making data-driven connections between relationship dynamics and structural choices by governments.
What is your favourite project that you’ve ever worked on?
See My Favourite Piece tab.
What was the most random job you’ve ever had?
When I was 24, I had a side job being a personal shopper on an app targeted to men in Silicon Valley. It was a fun mix of solving problems and using the encyclopaedic information on fashion that women are often socialised with.
What are your interests outside of work?
I really enjoy shopping. Not so much the buying part, but informing myself on different online vs brick-and-mortar vendors, what selections looks like for different categories in my area and if things come in more sustainable options. This capitalist hunting manifests itself in different goals, like scouring resale websites for kitchy 70’s recipe cards or figuring out where I can get refillable household cleaners and soaps to ameliorate the plastic guilt that comes from bringing down the recycling to the courtyard.
